Encinitas

One of Northern San Diego's most popular living destinations, this mega-suburb is home to hillside living and a large coastal community. Health and wellness enthusiasts and professionals alike dot the business district and living areas throughout the entire region. Head into this beachy suburb and you'll see everyone from surfers to men in business suits. Coastal highway 101 rolls through town hosting restaurants, yoga studios, surf shops and other family-run businesses that have made the area into the family community it is known for today. Kensington

Kensington is a highly sought after neighborhood. Just outside of downtown San Diego, Kensington offers residents an urban feel close to the heart of the city. Home to the Ken Cinema and local businesses, this is a neighborhood where new families can quickly get to know their neighbors. Young and older families share a sense of community along the neighborhoods windy, quaint streets. Some would say it's what a neighborhood should be- near the bustle of the city, but with enough sense to keep to a slow pace amid modern living. 

Rancho Penasquitos

Poway, just off the I-15 is situated at the base of the mountains and only a short distance from beaches and downtown San Diego. The "city in the country" claims 40 square miles dedicated to community open space to be shared among the community's families. The area is known for its diverse living environments. Whether your family prefers easy going condo or town house living or a large expansive property, you'll have no trouble finding a home that fits your needs. A major plus for families is the exceptionally low crime rate, one of the lowest in the state. Home to 55 miles of trails and 25 parks, no family will want for space to thrive.

Ocean Beach

A close-knit beach community, you'll get to know your neighbors fast. If you desire a slow-paced lifestyle for your family close to the sea, this is the place. Known as an area that has resisted corporate businesses from moving in, Ocean Beach residents are huge supporters of local businesses. Wednesdays are the day the community comes together at the local farmer's market along Newport Ave. If you're new to the community, stop by the market to meet local artisans, musicians and make friends with new neighbors.
