Sometimes being single on Valentine's Day can be rough. Especially when you’re constantly reminded that you are single by the upcoming holiday. But being single on Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to host a Galentine’s Day get-together with your girlfriends. Galantine’s Day is celebrated on February 13th every year, and it originated from the TV show “Parks and Recreation.” This holiday is all about declaring your love for the girls (or people in general) who support and love you. Below are some great tips on how to host the perfect Galantine’s to celebrate your friends!

Parking for Galentine's Day

If parking is limited in your apartment complex, ask your guests to use a ride-share app so they won’t have to worry about parking. Having your guests use a ride-share app will not only give them peace of mind but will give you peace of mind as well since you know they will get home safely.

Brunch for Dinner

A table filled with pancakes, fruit, and drinks.

If you enjoy having Saturday or Sunday brunch with your friends, then consider hosting brunch for dinner at your place for Galentine’s Day! You and your friends could even make brunch together by making some pancakes along with scrambled eggs, bacon, and even some yogurt parfaits. Once you’re done cooking everything, set up dinner by the TV and put on a reality TV show or romantic comedy. Make sure you have plenty of champagne and orange juice since mimosas are typically the highlight of any good brunch!

Movie Night

If you’re looking for an easy way to host Galentine’s Day, consider having a movie night with your friends. To host the perfect movie night, all you need is a streaming subscription, some popcorn, comfy seating, blankets, and of course, cocktails! Go ahead and invite your friends and pop some popcorn, make some cocktails, put on your favorite romantic comedy, and get comfy. This is a great low-effort way to hang out with your friends without spending too much money.

If you’re looking for some easy cocktail ideas, consider making a raspberry martini. This drink requires vodka, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and raspberry syrup. Pick your own measurements of the ingredients depending on how sweet or strong you would like your martinis to be, then add all the ingredients in a shaker with ice, give it a shake, and then strain your martini into chilled martini glasses. Then you and your friends can have the perfect cocktails to go with the perfect movie night.

Spa Night

If you’re in search of a way to help yourself and your friends have a relaxing, calm Galentine’s Day, consider hosting a spa night! Provide your friends with face masks and hair masks and give each other manicures and pedicures. You could even get you and your friends matching robes. If getting robes sounds too expensive, then you could get matching headbands to hold their hair back.

While you and your gal pals do self-care, snack on chips and dip or a cheese and meat board. If you’re looking to make your spa night feel fancy, dim the lights in your apartment and light some candles. You could even make some cocktails for your friends to drink while getting their nails done. An easy cocktail to make would be a blood orange margarita. To make one, you'll need 1 ½ ounces of tequila, 2 ounces of blood orange juice, ¾ ounces of Cointreau, some lime juice, salt for the rim, and ice for serving. Combine everything in a shaker and then strain the margarita into a glass. If you would like to make a pitcher for you and all your friends to share, you'll need 1 ½ cups of tequila, 2 cups of blood orange juice, ¾ cup of Cointreau, and ¾ cup of lime juice. Then add three handfuls of ice and stir until cold. Once you’re done mixing, pour it into individual glasses, and Tada! You have the perfect drink to accompany your self-care.

Wine Tasting

If you and your friends enjoy drinking wine together, then consider hosting a wine tasting in your apartment for Galentine's Day! To host a wine tasting, you'll need five different bottles of wine and enough wine glasses for you and all your friends to try the wine. Once you and your friends have tasted all the wine, they can then rank each wine from best to worst. After the tasting, they can sip on their favorite wine for the rest of the night. This is a great way to ensure that everyone is drinking a wine they enjoy! If you would like to provide food for your gals during the wine tasting, then order a pizza or make hors d'oeuvres they can snack on throughout the night.

Karaoke Night

Finally, if you and your friends love singing and dancing, hosting a karaoke night would be the perfect way for you and your gal pals to jam out on Galentine’s Day. To host the perfect karaoke night in your apartment, you will need a TV, a YouTube account, and some microphones you could purchase online. On YouTube, there are plenty of karaoke versions of your favorite songs, giving you and your friends plenty of options to sing and dance the night away!

If you would like to provide your friends with food and cocktails, go ahead and order some pizza. You could even make seltzer slushies by blending your favorite hard seltzers and ice together, making the perfect drink for a night filled with singing, dancing, and making memories.

Being single on Valentine's Day can be tough but hanging out with your gals and hosting the perfect Galentine’s Day can help you and your friends feel less alone and loved during Valentine's Day.
