There’s a good chance you’ve found yourself standing in your apartment, surrounded by piles of things you want to keep around but have no place to store it.
Should you rent a storage unit? Maybe, if you have a lot of stuff and oversized furniture.
But, chances are pretty good that it’s only some shoes, gadgets and sporting equipment.
While you may be under the impression that you’ve maxed out on apartment storage, don’t count your chickens just yet. You don’t have to choose between living among piles of junk, paying for expensive outside storage or donating your goods.
Check out these sneaky storage spots and discover how much room you really have in your apartment home.
Above Your Kitchen Cabinets
You pay for those six inches between the kitchen cabinets and ceiling, so why not put it to good use? This is a great place to store kitchen gadgets you don’t use as often, such as a hand-mixer, immersion blender and large serving platters.
Above Your Doors
In most apartments, there’s at least a foot of space between the top of the doors and ceiling. By mounting a shelf just above the door frames in your home, you’ll suddenly have more room for books, hats, trinkets, etc.
On Your Doors
Most folks are familiar with the over-the-door shoe rack. These are great for freeing up your closet space (I have two of them!)! But, you can also find similar types of racks for hanging hats, kitchen gadgets and more.
Beside Your Toilet
Slip a slim cabinet with drawers into the small space on either side of the toilet. By doing this, you can store Q-Tips, cotton balls, deodorant and any other little bathroom necessities.
Beside the Sofa
When space is an issue, sofas are typically wedged into corners of the living room. But, most sofas don’t have flat armrests. This means there is a small space between the wall and sofa. It’s perfect for slipping in a basket for magazines or collapsible TV dinner tables.
